Taiyuan bans sales of highly polluted fuels

In order reduce and prevent air pollution, Taiyuan, the capital city of China's Shanxi province, has announced a ban on the sale and burning of highly polluted fuels such as raw coal, coke, semi-coke, petroleum coke, coal tar, as well as some biomass briquettes in the urban area, which will take effect from April 24, according to the local environmental authority.
Steel and power plants including Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd . , Datang Taiyuan No . 2 Thermal Power Plant, Xishan Baijiazhuang Gangue Thermal Power Plant, Shanxi Shuangliang Dingxin Cements Co . , Ltd . , Taiyuan Shitou Zhonglian Cement Co . , Ltd . are not affected by the ban.
