Recently, Pingliang City issued the "Work Plan for Further Strengthening the Prevention and Control of Heavy Metal Pollution", which mentioned that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the prevention and control of heavy metal pollution in Pingliang City focuses on six major industries, including heavy nonferrous metal mining and dressing industry, heavy nonferrous metal smelting industry, lead-acid battery manufacturing industry, electroplating industry, chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry as well as leather tanning and processing industry, and will include lead, cadmium, chromium, copper, zinc, thallium and other heavy metal pollutants into the prevention and control scope, and designates key enterprise control areas in Kongtong District, Zhuanglang County and Jingning County of Pingliang City as key areas for heavy metal pollution prevention and control.
