Yunnan Tongwei starts building 200ktpy high-purity crystalline silicon project (phase two)

A ceremony was held on March 21st in the Industrial Park of Changning, Baoshan, Yunnan to launch the construction of Yunnan Tongwei's 200,000tpy high-purity crystalline silicon project (phase two). After the construction of the phase two project is completed, Yunnan Tongwei's high-purity crystalline silicon production capacity will exceed 250,000tpy and it will become the largest production base of this kind worldwide.
The phase two project is not only the first 200,000tpy project in high-purity crystalline silicon field in the world, but also the first project that has the investment of over RMB10 billion (USD1.45 billion) in this field worldwide. Yunnan Tongwei has an annual production capacity of 230,000t of high-purity crystalline silicon at present with more than 25% of shares in the global market, ranking first worldwide. The company's production capacity will rise to 350,000tpy by the end of the year.
