Baosteel successfully develops 1,000MPa steel for hydropower project

According to Baosteel, Baosteel lasted six years to complete the third-party welding procedure evaluation of 1,000MPa high-performance steel for hydropower project, and passed the product assessment of the expert review panel recently, having the capacity to supply steel for large-scale hydropower projects in batches.
The successful research and development of Baosteel's 1,000MPa steel for hydropower project has broken through the "bottleneck" blockade of strategic key basic materials for the construction of ultra-high head large-diameter hydropower station and ultra-high head pumped-storage power station in China, filled the domestic gap, and turned the potential resource advantage in the west into a real economic advantage.
