SIA: Global semiconductor sales down by 18.5% YoY in Jan

According to the data recently released by the Semiconductor Industry Association of America (SIA), global semiconductor sales totaled 41.3 billion US dollars in January 2023, down by 5.2% from 43.6 billion US dollars in December 2022 and 18.5% from 50.7 billion US dollars in January 2022.
In terms of regions, Europe saw a slight month-on-month increase of 0.6% in January, while Japan, Asia-Pacific/all other regions, the Americas and China witnessed month-on-month declines of 2.1%, 2.7%, 7.9% and 8.0% respectively. On a year-on-year basis, sales of Europe and Japan increased by 0.9% and 0.7% respectively, while those of the Americas, Asia-Pacific/all other regions and China fell by 12.4%, 19.5% and 31.6% respectively.
