CISA: to strictly control building of new electric furnaces without capacity

On March 1st, China Iron and Steel Industry Association (CISA) organized a special seminar on the development of steelmaking by electric furnaces. Luo Tiejun, Vice President of CISA, presided over the seminar and stressed that "three principles" should be well implemented in the research work. Firstly, market-based and scientific measures should be implemented; secondly, relative parties should highlight key points in the research and focus on clarifying the positioning and relationship of long and short processes in low-carbon development; thirdly, achievements made on steel capacity reduction should be consolidated and necessary measures should be carried out to strictly control the building of new electric furnaces without capacity.
