10GW PV development projects settle in Yunnan

On February 27, a number of photovoltaic development projects of 10 gigawatts settled in Yunnan with a total investment of RMB50 billion (USD7.2 billion).
The first round of construction including 64 projects with the total installed capacity of 4 gigawatts will be developed in Chuxiong, Wenshan, Qujing, Xishuangbanna, Lincang, Nujiang and Baoshan. The projects, injected with nearly RMB20 billion (USD2.88 billion) in total, will be mainly conducted by Yunnan Green Power New Energy Development Co., Ltd., a joint venture created by Green Power Group and Yunnan Investment Group. They are scheduled to commence construction and finish grid connection work within 2023, and will provide electricity of 5,200GWh for the whole province per annum after completion, cutting carbon dioxide emission by 4.05 million tons.
