Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. recently announced price increases for April stainless steel contracts. In particular, prices for SUS304 nickel series cold-rolled plates rose by JPY65,000/t (USD519/t), including an increase of JPY10,000/t (USD79.77/t) and JPY55,000/t (USD439/t) respectively for base price and alloy additional charge; prices for SUS430 chrome series cold-rolled plates rose by JPY15,000/t (USD120/t), including an increase of JPY10,000/t (USD79.77/t) and JPY5,000/t (USD39.89/t) respectively for base price and alloy additional charge; This is the sixth consecutive monthly price increase for its nickel series products. Since June 2020 when prices began to move up, price increases for this series products already totaled JPY265,000/t (USD2,114/t), while price increases for its chrome series products totaled JPY90,000/t (USD718/t) since March 2021.
