Primary aluminum and prebaked anode project designed by Chinese company begins break ground in Indonesia

The phase one of the aluminum-electricity integrated project with capacity of 1Mtpa primary aluminum (500kA) and 500ktpa prebake anode, operated by Indonesia Hua-Tsing Aluminum and designed by Guiyang Aluminum Magnesium Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. recently began construction.
Located at Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) in Sulawesi, the phase one of the project would produce 500,000t of primary aluminum and 250,000t of prebaked anode annually, along with construction of public associated supporting facilities. Upon completion, the project will make Indonesia Hua-Tsing Aluminum the biggest aluminum producer in Southeast Asia.
