Japan's steel products export volume in Apr falls YoY for 12th consecutive month

According to data from the Japan Iron & Steel Federation, Japan exported 2.740 million tons of steel in April, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%, recording the decline for the 12th consecutive month. Among them, the export volume of carbon steel was 1.716 million tons, down by 4.2% year-on-year, also hitting the decline for the 12th consecutive month.
The export volume of hot-rolled wide strip steel in April was 764,000t, a year-on-year decrease of 18.3%, the 12th consecutive month of decline; the export volume of thick plates was 221,000t, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%; the export volume of galvanized steel sheets and cold-rolled wide strip steel was 237,000t and 155,000t, a year-on-year increase of 30.3% and 10.5% respectively
