RSM Group announces to become global supplier of magnesium alloy downstream application for Volvo

RSM Group announced on the evening of January 13 that the company became a global supplier for Volvo in terms of magnesium alloy downstream application and entered into the auto parts supplier system of Porsche, BMW and Benz. Besides, it provides products to BYD, BAIC, Geely, Tesla and Ford in new energy vehicle market. Meanwhile, the company also strengthens cooperation with new energy battery manufacturer in China, such as CATL and BYD.
The company holds a magnesium alloy capacity of 180,000t, including 50,000t of Wutai RSM Branch, 100,000t from Chaohu RSM Branch and 30,000t from Huizhou RSM and accounting for over 30% in global market. The newly-added capacity of 20,000t of magnesium alloy and 8,000t of magnesium particles for Chongqing Boao is under construction now. In addition, the company holds a primary magnesium capacity of 100,000t, 50,000t from Wutai RSM Branch and 50,000t from Chaohu RM Branch.
RSM Group noted that Baosteel Metal Co., Ltd. is the second largest shareholder of the company. Both of the two parties cooperate with each other in strategic layout. They share client resources, jointly develop new applications and clients of magnesium alloys and aluminum alloys, deepen cooperation in technology research and development, expand application of magnesium and aluminum and enhance their competitiveness based on management advantages of each other.
