Thailand Luoyang Longmen to launch a new project of high aluminum sludge

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Oct 20 - Based in Thailand, Luoyang Longmen Ferro-Alloy Factory (Thailand) Co., Ltd. plan to put into production of high aluminum sludge with the annual production capacity of 25,000t since early November and the output in November would achieve around 500t, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
The source revealed, "We built the production line late last year and planned to start the new project of high aluminum sludge since early this year. However, we had to delay the production for almost the whole year due to COVID-19 and would launch the project since early next month. Our monthly output could reach around 2,000t if we run the full capacity but we would only produce around 500t in the first month." The source also disclosed that they recycle valuable metals from refinery spent catalysts by hydrometallurgy processing and the products could provide for cement plants and refractory plants.
Based on an annual production capacity of 25,000t of high aluminum sludge, the company expects to produce around 500t of the material in November with no stocks now. They expect to produce about 1,500t of the material in 2020.
Currently, the mainstream prices of calcined bauxite 85%min 1-3mm stand at USD375-395/t CIF Thailand, up by USD5/t from early last week.
