Xiyu Nonferrous Metals overhauls lead ingot production lines

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Sep 20 - Qinghai Xiyu Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., the largest lead ingot producer in Qinghai, maintained lead ingot production line from 26 August, and the maintenance is expected to last till late September, with the output in September to drop by 50%, a source from the company disclosed.
"We performed maintenance on lead ingot production line from 26 August in accordance with the regular overhaul plan. The crude lead production line suspended, while the lead ingot production line is still in production," the source noted, adding that the maintenance would cause lead ingot output to drop by 50% in September. As a holding company of Western Mining, the company uses the raw material lead concentrate mainly from the Group's Xitieshan lead-zinc mine to produce lead ingot, which is mainly sold to traders and battery plants via long-term contracts.
With an annual capacity of 100,000t for lead ingot, the company produced about 8,500t in August, in line with July, and holds no stocks now. The company produced about 87,700t of lead ingot in 2019 and about 41,000t in H1 2020.
Mainstream prices for lead ingot 99.994%min stood at RMB15,450-15,650/t (USD2,262-2,291/t) in Shanghai warehouse last Friday, down by RMB250/t (USD36.60/t) from last Thursday.
