Ansteel to rectify pollution situation in Xidagou

Ansteel released an announcement on the evening of July 21. It confirmed the report about pollution in Xidagou and claimed that the pollution was caused by the flowage of flood control drainage.
The announcement noted that in the first half of 2020, Bureau of Ecology and Environment of Anshan monitored and detected the water pollutants in flood control drainage and the pollutants load in water from Xidagou exceeded the limit under the comprehensive emission standard of wastewater in Liaoning. The bureau issued three decisions of administrative penalty for environment protection on June 19 and July 8, 2020, with the fine of RMB400,000 (USD57,360) in total.
Ansteel noted that it will clean the river immediately, unclog the drain and enhance management. Next, the company will make a systematic plan for the rectification and thoroughly solve the problem caused by excess emission of water pollutants in flood control drainage in Xidagou.
