Chinese consortium to reconstruct coal power plant in Montenegro

Electric Power Industry of Montenegro (EPCG) on June 9 signed an agreement with a consortium consisting of China's Dongfang Electric Corporation and three Montenegrin companies on the reconstruction of Pljevlja coal power plant in Montenegro. The agreement on the ecological reconstruction of the power plant was signed in Niksic, a city in the central part of Montenegro.
The project, worth about 54 million euros (61.2 million US dollars), is to be completed by 2023, accroding to the agreement.
Pljevlja thermal power plant, built in 1982, is Montenegro's only coal power plant.
