Inner Mongolia to build nine advanced manufacturing clusters

Inner Mongolia government recently announced its plan to build nine advanced manufacturing clusters with focus on industries of comparative advantage, including new-type chemical engineering, iron and steel, nonferrous metals, modern equipment manufacturing, and new materials, etc. At the same time, the government will also build associated high-end manufacturing bases.
These planned high-end manufacturing bases will be located in central, eastern and western parts of Inner Mongolia. For instance, modern coal chemical industrial base will be established in Erdos and Baotou, special steel base is planned in Baotou, and NEV manufacturing base is to be constructed in Hohhot-Baotou-Erdos region. Other manufacturing bases include primary aluminum production and post-processing base in Tongliao, Baotou and Erdos; copper production and post-processing base in Chifeng, Bayannur and Baotou; rare earth functional material base in Baotou; photovoltaic materials base in Hohhot.
