China Baowu plans to build green intelligent short-process steel plant in Xiangyang

From April 26 to 29, Qi Yingcai, Mayor of Xiangyang, led a team to visit Guangdong to attract investment, inspected Baowu Group Guangdong Shaoguan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (SGIS) and other enterprises, and held the first investment promotion conference for Xiangyang in Shenzhen this year, outside Hunan.
With an annual steel production capacity of 6.6 million tons, SGIS is an important steel production base in Guangdong. Qi Yingcai and his team visited the Smart Center of SGIS and learned in detail about the company's innovative measures to build a smart steel manufacturing demonstration base. At the symposium, the two parties exchanged in-depth views and reached a consensus on three major projects including the construction of a green intelligent short-process steel plant with an annual output of 1.3 million tons, a casting and forging industrial park with the capacity of 50,000t, and an urban mine recycling industrial park with the capacity of 1.5 million tons.
