Government of Tangshan announces to shut down headquarters of Tangshan Steel before the end of June

On May 12, the Government of Tangshan issued 13 measures, which involved the tasks of relocation and capacity reduction. Details as follows:
1. Relocation
(1) Before the end of June, Tangshan Steel's headquarters and Tangyin's original site will be shut down.
According to information from the official website of Tangshan Steel, it has an annual production capacity of 18 million tons of iron, steel and related products. Based on the previous capacity transfer announcement released by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hebei, Tangshan Steel will be relocated from the urban area to Laoting County, and will withdraw one blast furnace of 2,000 cubic meters, one of 3,200 cubic meters and three converters of 150t to transfer one blast furnace of 3,200 cubic meters, one converter of 230t and two electric furnaces of 120t of Laoting project. At present, Laoting project is still under construction and is planned to be put into production by the end of 2020.
(2) Tangshan will promote the preliminary procedures and construction of layout upgrading and relocation projects for iron and steel enterprises including Tianzhu, Huaxi, Guoyi, etc.
(3) The relocation project of Tangshan Thermal Power Company strives to achieve a major breakthrough at the end of October.
(4) Before the end of September, Tangshan will close ceramic enterprises except Art Porcelain in downtown area.
(5) Before the end of June, Tangshan will close Tangshan Steel and Tangyin-related affiliated enterprises such as Yinshui and Hasike.
2. Capacity reduction
By the end of November, Tangshan will complete the provincial capacity reduction tasks of steel-making, coal, coke and thermal power.
