On May 9, the Office for Air Pollution Control Leading Group of Shanxi stated that from now to the end of September, Shanxi will launch a decisive battle to defend the blue sky in summer and handle with three prominent issues including ozone, scattered coal and industrial pollution to complete 12 tasks finally.
Recently, Shanxi issued a notice to launch a decisive battle to defend the blue sky in summer. The notice mentioned that industrial pollution is the main factor affecting the improvement of air quality. The action plan requires that enterprises will be forced to fulfill their main responsibility for reducing emission and adjust industrial structure and layout optimization. The goal is to achieve four "zero-clearances": one is to complete the task of reduction and elimination of coking capacity in stages; the second is to eliminate substandard coal washing and separation enterprises; the third is to complete ultra-low emission and transformation task in iron and steel industry; the fourth is to eliminate excessive emission of nitrogen oxide in industrial enterprises under key monitoring.
