Recently, the anti-smuggling bureau of Changsha Customs finished a crackdown on suspected antimony ingot smuggling case and arrested five people involved in the case in Loudi of Hunan, Shenzhen of Guangdong, Nanning of Guangxi and other places. The preliminary investigation suspected a smuggling of more than 250 tons of antimony ingot and a case value of more than 10 million yuan (1.41 million US dollars), involving nearly 500,000 yuan (70,695 US dollars) of taxes.
According to the investigation, since 2019, the smuggling gang has been ordering antimony ingot and other minerals from suppliers in Hunan and then entrusted border smuggling and customs clearance gang to transport the goods to border ports, and smuggled the goods out by falsely reporting the products.
Anti-smuggling bureau of Changsha Customs reminded that the antimony ingot export needs to apply for export license; the provisional export tax rate in 2020 is 5%.
