A 300,000-ton cargo ship carrying Guinean bauxite was unloaded at Yantai port in Shandong, China on March 16.
This cargo ship loaded with 262,000 tons of bauxite left Guinea and berthed at Yantai port on March 13.
Since the 2020 Spring Festival, 21 ships carrying Guinean bauxite have been unloaded at Yantai port with total unloading volume of 2.87 million tons, which provided guarantee for a stable bauxite logistics chain between China and Africa and the development of aluminum industry in the Asian country.
Guinea is one of the most bauxite resources-rich countries in the world. In recent years, Yantai Port Group has been building wharf in Guinea and has established, together with other partners, a bauxite logistics chain through which bauxite has been sent continuously to Yantai port for subpackage . Yantai port has therefore become the largest bauxite unloading port in China, with throughput reaching 114 . 16 million tons in 2019.
