The office for the leading group of iron and steel industry excess capacity elimination of Jilin issued the "Work Plan for Iron and Steel Excess Capacity Elimination in Jilin 2020" on March 4.
The plan mentioned that iron and steel industry in Jilin should prevent the resurgence of substandard steel and the resumption of excess production capacity that has been eliminated, and forbid the record and increase of new iron and steel smelting capacity projects in any name. The plan requires that, from January 24, 2020, all regions should not seek public opinions on or announce new iron and steel capacity transfer schemes, or file new iron and steel projects.
