On March 5, the Development and Reform Commission of Guangdong released "Key Construction Project Plan in Guangdong 2020" and "Key Preparatory Project Schedule Before Construction in Guangdong 2020", which involved multiple steel projects.
Among them, the "Key Construction Project Plan in Guangdong 2020" with the total investment of over RMB40 billion (USD5.78 billion) involves the following iron and steel projects: cold-rolled precision stainless steel strip project with annual production capacity of 500,000t of Yangjiang Hongwang, comprehensive utilization of waste heat resources and power generation project of Yangchun New Steel, No.3 blast furnace system project (continued construction project) of Zhanjiang Iron and Steel under Baosteel, high-quality special steel project (continued construction of electric furnace steel-making project) with an annual production capacity of 8 million tons of Guangdong Jinshenglan Metallurgical Technology Co., Ltd., electric furnace short-process high-quality special steel reconstruction project (newly started electric furnace steel-making project) of Heyuan Derun Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., high-quality steel project (newly started electric furnace steel-making project) of Yunfu Guangdong Nanfang Donghai Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., logistics processing trade project phase II of Foshan Lecong Iron and Steel, production line transformation and industrial wire technology transformation project of Shaoguan Plate, No.6 continuous casting machine technology transformation project of Shaoguan Steel-making Plant, etc.
In addition, the "Key Preparatory Project Schedule Before Construction in Guangdong 2020" with the total investment of nearly RMB50 billion (USD7.22 billion) involves projects including No.4 and No.5 blast furnace system project of Zhanjiang Iron and Steel under Baosteel, the short-process high-quality special steel project with an annual production capacity of 6 million tons of Heyuan Guangxi Guixin Iron and Steel Group (Yuancheng District), intelligent short-process network steel plant project of Baowu Iron and Steel Group Guangdong Shaogang Songshan Co., Ltd., etc.
