Heilongjiang Tongshan Mining launches engineering project at Tongshan Mine

Heilongjiang Tongshan Mining Industry Limited Company held the groundbreaking ceremony for its engineering project at Tongshan Mine in Nenjiang on January 2.
Located at Duobaoshan, Nenjiang, the engineering project is the second phase of Tongshan Mine Project. The phase I project went into operation in May 2012, while the phase II project will build mining, water and power facilities as well as associated public equipment and will mainly adopt open-pit mining and underground mining techniques, with total investment of RMB948 million (USD136 million) and a construction period of three years. Upon completion of construction, the phase II project would mine 10,000 tonnes of copper ore per day and 3 million tonnes per year (about 15,000tpy of copper) and is expected to generate additional output value of RMB700 million (USD100 million), along with taxes of RMB100 million (USD14.34 million). With the operation of the phase II project, Duobaoshan Copper Mine is on track to become the biggest copper production base in northeastern China and the second biggest one in China.
