US announces preliminary AD determination on cast iron soil pipe from China

On August 27, 2018, the Department of Commerce of US (Commerce) announced the preliminary anti-dumping duty (AD) determination on cast iron soil pipe imported from China, assigning a preliminary dumping rate of 302.61 percent to mandatory respondent HengTong Casting Co. Ltd. and all other producers and exporters from China. Commerce expects to make the final determination on January 8, 2019. Involved product was under HTSUS code 7303.00.0030.
On February 16, 2018, Commerce made AD and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations on cast iron soil pipe imported from China in response to the application lodged by local Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute on January 26, 2018. On March 9, 2018, USITC issued positive preliminary AD and CVD industry injury determination on cast iron soil pipe imported from China. On June 26, 2018, Commerce made preliminary CVD determination on the involved product imported from China. According to the statistics from US, imports of cast iron soil pipe from China were valued at USD11.5 million.
