Wanshun: Light gauge aluminum foil business to improve sales performance

Shantou Wanshun Package Material Stock Co., Ltd. ("Wanshun") recently said that it gained revenue of RMB1.263 billion from its aluminum processing business in the first half of 2018, up by 33.69% YOY. Curently, Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Wanshun, has an annual production capacity of 83,000t of aluminum foil; Wanshun's two sub-subsidiaries, Anhui Maximum Aluminum Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Huafeng Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd., have production capacity of more than 100,000tpy of aluminum plate and strip. Wanshun sold 77,000t of aluminum foil in 2017 while the sales in H1 2018 reached 42,000t. In term of aluminum foil, the company has already been running at full capacity.
Wanshun recently started the 42,000tpy light gauge aluminum foil project at its subsidiary Anhui Maximum Aluminum Co., Ltd., where aluminum plate and strip are processed into aluminum foil. Due to its wide range of applications, aluminum foil is mainly used in food industry, battery industry, pharmaceuticals industry, tobacco industry, construction industry, healthcare industry, etc. The demand for the material has been increasing progressively over the past few years.
In addition, Wansun expects to further expand its aluminum foil business by exploring the markets of aluminum foil for capacitor, battery cathode and battery soft package, etc. The company already supplied aluminum foil to downstream customers in these markets with sales rising progressively.
Wanshun will increase production capacity of aluminum foil through technology upgrading and capital expansion, for meeting the newly-emerged demand in the market. What's more, the expansion of functional film, such as energy-efficient film, PDLC film, and nano-silver film, would further improve Wanshun's sales performance in the future.
