Xiaoshan Tin reduces tin ingot output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Aug 18 - With an annual capacity of 6,000t of tin ingot, Jiangxi Huichang Xiaoshan Tin Co., Ltd. expects to reduce its output of the material by 25% MOM in August.
"We operated two electric furnaces from the beginning of 2018 to mid-August, but closed one of them then for maintenance, merely operating one electric furnace in the second half of August. As a result, our output of tin ingot throughout the month will decrease," a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal. Owning three electric furnaces of 1,250KVA in total, the company has produced around 220t of tin ingot so far in August and expects that the output throughout the month would be only 300t, down by about 100t MOM. It holds about 500t of stocks of tin ingot at the moment.
The company, which mainly purchases tin concentrate 60%min from Hunan and Yunnan to produce Xiaoshan tin ingot, hasn't refilled stocks of the raw material since July. Mainstream treatment charges of tin concentrate 60%min are about RMB12,500/metal ton (USD1,818/metal ton) delivered in the local market now, unchanged over July. The company holds about 1,500 metal tons of stocks of tin concentrate currently.
Mainstream transaction prices of tin ingot were RMB143,500-145,500/t (USD20,873-21,164/t) in the Chinese market on Thursday, stable from Wednesday.
