Xichang Steel & Vanadium realizes full-automatic batch rolling of titanium mill products

On August 17th, the board plant of Pangang Group Xichang Steel & Vanadium ("the Plant") successfully processed 415.26t of titanium mill products. The Plant realized full-automatic intelligent stable rolling of titanium mill products after the great improvement on automation system technology and the application of many new rolling technologies, with the yielding rate over 98%, reflecting that its titanium mill products rolling comprehensive technology is in the forefront of domestic industry.
It is known that titanium mill products, as a kind of new structural material, are widely used in the military, medical equipment, aerospace and other industries. However, due to the characteristics of low temperature, brittle material and extremely easy deformation of rolling, high requirements are put forward for rolling production process, equipment and operation level, the rolling technology is difficult, and there are only a few enterprises in China that can roll steadily in batches.
Xichang Steel & Vanadium has rolled over 2,600t of titanium mill products so far with the steadiness and quality continuously improving.
