Gejiu Jinye plans to resume tin ingot production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 31 Jul 18 - With an annual capacity of 10,000t of tin ingots, Gejiu Jinye Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. plans to resume production as early as next week, a source from the company revealed.
The source noted that they halted production in mid-June due to environmental inspection and upgrading on relevant equipment and expects that they could resume production after finishing the upgrading and passing acceptance check next week. "The reform has not been finished and is expected to be completed as early as next week. The overhaul mainly includes upgrading on desulfurizer and on-line monitoring of gas emission equipment," said the source. The overhaul is expected to last for around 50 days and the output of tin ingot will be reduced by about 500t.
With four electric furnaces in total, the company will restart two of them in operation initially. It, mainly engaged in production for others, produced around 100t in June and produces no material in July, expecting the output to reach around 200t in August, holding no stocks now.
Mainly using tin ore to produce Yinsheng tin ingot, the company recently made purchases of floatation tin concentrate 40%min with treatment charges at around RMB16,500/metal ton (USD2,419/metal ton), up by around RMB500/metal ton (USD73.31/metal ton) from June, but their cost for per single ton of tin ingot increases by around RMB2,000/t (USD293/t) from previous years due to environmental tax and newly added environmental equipment.
