US makes final AD and CVD determinations on cast iron soil pipe fittings from China

On July 6, 2018, US Department of Commerce (Commerce) made final AD (anti-dumping duty) and CVD (countervailing duty) determinations on cast iron soil pipe fittings imported from China
On August 3, 2017, Commerce initiated AD and CVD investigations on cast iron soil pipe fittings imported from China in response to the application lodged by Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute of US on July 13, 2017. On August 25, 2017, USITC announced positive preliminary AD and CVD determinations, believing that imports of involved products from China did cause industry injury to American relevant industry . On December 13, 2017, Commerce made preliminary CVD determination on cast iron soil pipe fittings imported from China . On February 14, 2018, it released affirmative preliminary AD determination on involved products . According to US statistics, imports of cast iron soil pipe fittings from China were at an estimated 7 . 8 million dollars in 2017.
. It respectively calculated a dumping rate of 27 . 18, 22 . 11, 24 . 65, and 360 . 39 percent for mandatory respondent Shanxi Xuanshi Industrial Group Co . , Ltd . , Wor-Biz Trading Co . , Ltd. (Anhui), Chinese exporters of cast iron soil pipe fittings eligible for a separate rate, and all other Chinese exporters/producers including Sibo International Ltd . and Kingway Pipe Co . , Ltd . It respectively calculated a subsidy rate of 34 . 87, 7 . 37, 133 . 94 and 23 . 28 percent for mandatory respondent Shanxi Xuanshi Industrial Group Co . , Ltd . , Wor-Biz International Trading Co . , Ltd . , Shijiazhuang Chengmei Import & Export Co . , Ltd . and all other Chinese producers and exporters . Involved products were under HTSUS code 7307 . 11 . 0045 and some were under HTSUS codes 7324 . 29 . 0000 and 7307 . 92 . 3010 . USITC will conduct final industry injury determination on August 20, 2018.
