Chaoyang Baisheng Titanium reduces titanium sponge output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 5 Jul 18 - Chaoyang Baisheng Titanium Co., Ltd. reduced the output of titanium sponge by 50% in June due to short supply of titanium tetrachloride.
A source from the company noted that they only produced about 600t of titanium sponge in June, while the output in May was 1,200t, and the output decreased due to short supply of the raw material titanium tetrachloride in June. At present, its selling price for titanium sponge 99.6%min is RMB59,000/t (USD8,894/t) delivered D/A.
Mainly engaging in titanium sponge business, the company has one production base in Chaoyang and one in Hebei with the capacity of 10,000tpy and 5,000tpy of titanium sponge respectively.
