Brazil conducts anti-dumping investigation on S.G. cast iron pipe from China

On May 8, 2018, Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade Service of Brazil released its announcement No.18 in 2018, saying that it decided to initiate anti-dumping investigation on S.G. cast iron pipe from China, UAE and India. The investigation period of dumping was from October 2016 to September 2017 and the analysis period of injury was from October 2012 to September 2017. Involved product was under MERCOSUR Tariff code 7303.00.00.
Interested parties should lodge evidence material related to the investigation through Sistema DECOM Digital (SDD) whose website is http://decomdigital.mdic. gov. br. They can designate the responding statutory agent to Brazil within 20 days and submit qualification certificate document of the responding statutory agent within 91 days when the review announcement is released.
Questionnaires will be delivered to involved exporters/producers, importers and other domestic producers, and related companies should finish questionnaires and lodge answers through SDD within 30 days when the questionnaires are sent.
As many Chinese companies are involved in the investigation, Brazil plans to send questionnaires with sampling method. Related companies should fill out the questionnaires and lodge them through SDD within 30 days when the questionnaires are sent.
Interested parties can apply to hold hearing within five months after the investigation starts.
On January 31, 2018, Brazilian enterprise Saint-Gobain Canalizacao Ltda. lodged its application, requiring that anti-dumping investigation should be initiated on S.G. cast iron pipe imported from China, UAE and India.
