On March 16, ZTS Non-ferrous Metals Group staged the groundbreaking ceremony for its 50,000tpy high-precision copper sheet/strip/foil and annually-2-millionm2 copper-clad plate project ("the Project") in Yuanqu county, Shanxi province.
The Project has a total investment of RMB2.088 billion and its construction is expected to last for 30 months. It boasts advantages in terms of resources, product competitiveness, equipment, environmental friendliness and energy saving. When the Project goes into operation, it will be able to produce 50,000t high-precision copper sheet and strip, 5,000t rolled copper foil and 2 million square meters of flexible copper-clad plates annually, and to achieve an annual operation revenue of RMB3.5 billion (USD556 million) and tax of RMB216 million (USD34.32 million). Its products are mainly high-end products, of which rolled copper foils and high-precision copper strips enjoy tremendous market demand as they are widely used in telecommunication equipment, new energy Li-battery and electromagnetic shielding material industries.
