Bintan Mining aims at 3 million tonnes of bauxite in Solomon Islands in 2018

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Mar 18 - Bintan Mining Corporation, a bauxite owner in Solomon Islands, plans to produce around 3 million tonnes of bauxite in 2018, up from around 1.8 million tonnes in 2017, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
According to the source, their monthly production has increased from around 200,000t to 300,000t. "We can export 3-4 vessels per month now," said the source, adding that they use vessels with loading capacity of 80,000t.
Based on the reserves of 40 million tonnes, the owner provides with bauxite Al2O3 47-48% SiO2 1.5%max. They hold around 300,000t in stock.
The current price for the bauxite is around USD45/t CIF China.
