Winning Group aims at 40 million tonnes of Guinean bauxite in 2018

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Mar 18 - Winning Group Ltd., a major bauxite shipping company, plans to ship around 40 million tonnes of bauxite in 2018, up from around 32 million tonnes in 2017, Mr. Sun Xiushun, president of the Group, disclosed the information in a Bauxite Meeting held in Winning Group Qindao office on March 7.
Chalco, Xinfa Group, Nanshan Group, SPI, Xinghen Group, Lubei Group, Yantai Port, Dalian Miaoyi Group, Zibo Rundi Aluminum and Asian Metal attended the meeting. Delegates introduced their demand capacity for bauxite.
According to Mr. Sun, in Guinea, they now have 2 ports, 4 floating cranes, 2 loading platforms, and the loading capacity is now 130,000tpd, which will improve to 150,000tpd from early May. "We have 12 barges and 25 berths," said the source, adding that they own 32 cape-size vessels.
Before 2018, they mainly provide with bauxite for Weiqiao Group, but will sell 5-8 million tonnes of the material to any other buyers per year from 2018. They offer USD55/t CIF China for bauxite Al2O3 45%min SiO2 3%max.
The Group started investigation in Guinea from the year of 2013 and the port building started from April 2015 and was finished in July of the year. In 2015 and 2016, they shipped around 1 million tonnes and 11 million tonnes of Guinean bauxite respectively.
The Group will attend the 9th Global Bauxite Summit as a sponsor, which is organized by Asian Metal, on May 17-18 in Jinan, Shandong of China.
