EU makes final anti-dumping determination on cast iron articles from China

On January 30, 2018, the European Commission released a notice that it had made an affirmative final anti-dumping determination on cast iron articles originating in or imported from China
On December 10, 2016, the European Commission announced that it initiated anti-dumping investigation on cast iron articles originating in or imported from China and India following a complaint lodged on 31 October 2016 by seven EU producers, including Fondatel Lecompte SA, Ulefos Niemisen Valimo Oy Ltd, Saint-Gobain PAM SA and another four producers. The period of dumping and investigation was from 1 October 2015 to 30 September 2016 . On 17 August 2017, the European Commission made a positive preliminary anti-dumping determination on cast iron articles originating in China and India, believing that relevant Chinese products were indeed dumped in EU, so it imposed 6-month provisional anti-dumping duty with the rate of 25 . 3-42 . 8% on Chinese companies involved in the investigation . However, no dumping showed from Indian products, so it did not levy provisional anti-dumping duty on Indian companies.

According to the notice, the relevant products from China were indeed sold at unfair prices in EU and caused material injury to EU's companies, thus EU determined to impose anti-dumping duty on interested Chinese companies on the basis of CIF prices with the detailed customs duty rates seen in the following table . It imposed a negative final anti-dumping ruling on relevant products originating in or imported from India, saying that interested Indian products were not dumped in EU, so it ended the anti-dumping investigation and did not levy anti-dumping duty on the products from India . The products involved in the investigation were under EU's CN code ex 7325 10 00 (TARIC code 7325 10 00 31) and ex 7325 99 10 (TARIC 7325 99 10 51).
