WBMS: Global tin market sees 10,500t of tin shortage from January to October 2017

According to Dow Jones Newswires on December 13th, the data released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS) on its website on Wednesday showed that the global tin market saw a shortage of 10,500t from January to October 2017. In October, the total reportable inventories decreased by 6,500 tons, with a decrease of 3,600t as of the end of October compared with that as of the end of 2016.Refined tin output over the world from January to October 2017 increased by 20,000t YOY from January to October, and that in Asia rose by 20,100t YOY. Apparent demand in China decreased by 5.4% over the same period of last year. In the first 10 months of this year, global demand for tin was 315,400t, down by 0.31% from the same period of last year. Japanese consumption was 24,000t, up by 8% YOY. In October 2017, refined tin output was 29,800t and consumption was 34,400t.
