Shagang Yongxing Steel quits rebar production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Dec 17 - Henan province-based Shagang Group Yongxing Iron and Steel Co., Ltd stopped rebar production on 6th December, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"Because of the environmental protection inspection, we have to halt production until the end of this month," he said, adding that there is strict limitation on steel mills' production in Henan province now as local government need to finish the task of environmental protection.
There are two rebar production lines in the company mainly produces grades of Φ12-16mm and Φ18-32 respectively with a total output of around 200,000tpm. According to the source, they do not have materials in hand now, while the target stockpile is about 40,000t.
Rebar prices in Chinese domestic market see a downward trend at present due to weak customer demand after the sharp increase in previous days. In Anyang, the current mainstream price of HRB400Φ18-25mm from Yongxing Steel is about RMB4,760/t (USD720/t) VAT included, down by RMB70/t (USD11/t) in the past two days.
