Zhongtian Steel stops one rebar production line for maintenance

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Sep 17 - Jiangsu province-based steel producer Zhongtian Steel stopped one rebar production line on 12th September, revealed a source from the company.
“This is the regular facility maintenance which will last about ten days with a total output reduction of 25,000-30,000t,” he said, adding that the planned output for this month is around 330,000t.
There are six rebar production lines in Zhongtian Steel with an annual production capacity of 4.4 million tonnes. “We have a regular stockpile of about 100,000t in hand and the output decrease will not bring much influence to the spot market,” he explained.
According to the source, rebar prices in East China see a downward trend at present on weak customer demand. In Shanghai, the current mainstream price of HRB400Φ20mm from Zhongtian Steel is about RMB4,090/t (USD624/t) VAT included, down by RMB20/t (USD3/t) this week.
