China Minmetals became China's first international seabed mining exploration contract enterprises

China Minmetals Corporation has recently signed contract of polymetallic nodule exploration with the International Seabed Authority.Asian Metal CopyrightChina Minmetals Corporation has recently signed contract of polymetallic nodule exploration with the International Seabed Authority.Asian Metal Copyright Based on this contract, Minmetals obtains the exclusive mining right and mining priority of the international seabed polymetallic nodule resources exploration deposit, which is reserved in the rift zone of polymetallic nodule in Clarion-Clipperton in the the East Pacific Ocean with a coverage of 72,740 square kilometers.Asian Metal Copyright During the contract period, China Minmetals Corporation will fully develop technologies for deep sea exploration based on platform of Changsha Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and Changsha Institute of Mining Research, two top subsidiary technical institutes of Minmetals in deep seas mineral exploration in China, playing significant role in promoting and accelerating the deep-sea technology and equipment and related policy support.Asian Metal Copyright This is the fourth exclusive mining right of international sea bed obtained by China, also the first time for China to sign such contract as a large enterprise entity.
