After over 2-year construction, the biggest copper dressing plant in Kazakhstan which was contracted to be built by China Non-ferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co
Located in southern East Kazakhstan, Aktogay copper dressing plant is a globally large-sized copper mine with proven reserves of more than 1.7 billion tonnes . It is also the biggest copper mine in Kazakhstan . With total investment for the construction of USD2 . 1 billion, Aktogay copper dressing plant has the annual ore processed volume of 37 million tonnes which are mainly supplied to China.
Aktogay is a key project of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Kazakhstan capacity cooperation. NFC formally signed contract for construction project of Aktogay with KAZ Minerals PLC on December 14th 2014 witnessed by China’s former Prime Minister Li Keqiang and Kazakhstan's former Prime Minister Karim Masimov . In addition to Aktogay, NFC had successively completed a series of fine projects of electrolytic aluminum, pet coke, vulcanizing plant, petrifaction delayed reconstruction and copper dressing plant, with total duty paid of more than USD160 million, making tremendous contributions to enhancing local social and economic development and the friendships between the peoples of the two countries.
