Chinese steel exports hit a record low in Jan 2017

According to customs, Chinese steel export totaled 7.42 million tons in January 2017, decreased by 380,000 tonnes compared with last month, dropped by 23.2% compared with the same period of 2016. It hits a record low new since July 2014.
Meanwhile, Chinese steel import totaled 1.09 million tonnes, decreased by around 100,000 tonnes compared with last month, increased by 17.7% compared with the same period of last year.
In addition, Chinese iron ore import totaled 92 million tonnes, increased by 3.05 million tonnes compared with last month and up by 12% compared with the same period of last year. In the meantime, Chinese coke export totaled 790,000 tonnes, decreased by 110,000 tonnes compared with the last month and up by 7.6% compared with the same period of last year.
