BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Mar 16 - Sources reported that Chinese calcium-silicon export market sees increasing offers but slow buying activity. Currently, calcium-silicon 55-30 export prices go up to USD1,470-1,520/t FOB China, up by USD20/t from one week ago. Some large exporters raise the offers to USD1,550/t FOB China, up by USD70/t from those of mid-March
An exporter in Ningxia reported that Chinese calcium-silicon export offers move up. Currently, they raise offers to USD1,560/t FOB China for calcium-silicon 55-30, with an increase of USD70/t from those of ten days ago . “We have not made any new deals yet since we raised the prices . Our clients hold watchful attitudes to the market now,” said the source . He confirmed that current export market is in a game.
With an annual capacity of 40,000t, they plan to produce about 3,000t this month, without much change from that of February, having about 300t of stocks at hand now.
An exporter in Henan stated that Chinese calcium-silicon export market witnesses increasing offers. They plan to increase offers of the material to about USD1,530/t FOB China on Monday, up by USD50/t from those of last week. “Our prices were at around USD1,460/t FOB China in last week . We also plan to increase prices as domestic calcium-silicon prices jump and other exporters raise the prices,” said the source.
With a regular monthly export volume of 400t, they sold about 300t in February, and have made deals of 200t so far this month, having no stocks at hand now.
