AM Statistics: Chinese commercial carbon anode output up by 18.8% MOM in January 2016

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Feb 16 - According to Asian Metal Database, China produced around 580,000t of commercial carbon anode in January 2016, up by 18.8% compared with that in December 2015. Commercial carbon anode producers refer to those who have no aluminum smelting plants by themselves.

In mid-December 2015, some producers suspended production in Henan province due to “Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit” held in Zhengzhou of Henan. Last month, those producers were in normal production and output increased accordingly.
In the past month, the commercial carbon anode output in Shandong was around 300,000t, up by 10% MOM, while the output in Henan moved up by 17% MOM to around 120,000t. Some new projects came on stream in Northwest China over the past few months, so the output may continue to increase in February.
