BEIJING (Asian Metal) 20 Jan 16 - Sources reported that Chinese calcium-silicon export market sees sliding prices. Currently, prices for calcium-silicon 55-30 are at USD1,490-1,540/t FOB China, with a decrease of USD10/t from that of two weeks ago
An exporter in Shaanxi stated that Chinese calcium-silicon prices go down slightly. This week, their prices for the material are around USD1,530/t FOB China through Shanghai port, with a fall of USD20/t from that of early this month . “We mainly arrange delivery this week as the most domestic consumers have finished purchasing plan before Spring Festival holiday and overseas buyers just adopt hand-to-mouth purchasing strategy,” said the source . He confirmed that they reduce the prices along with depreciation of RMB and consumers’ fierce bargaining .
With an annual production capacity of 3,500t, they plan to produce at full capacity this month, unchanged from that of December, holding no stocks at hand now.

With regular monthly export volume of 300t, they sold about 200t in December, and have achieved deals of 200t, holding no stocks at the moment.
