Thai welded pipe price down

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Jun 15 - Thai welded pipe prices witness a downward trend and the market is not active with downstream demand absent. Insiders foresee a sluggish welded pipe market in the remaining weeks of this month.
A trader from Bangkok tells Asian Metal that the price of welded pipe ASTM A53B Φ114.3mm*3.75mm is THB19,000/t (USD564/t) VAT excluded, down by THB500/t (USD15/t) compared with that of last week.
Noted by the source, the demand for welded pipe has been insufficient during the second quarter and local prices kept decreasing along with a dim market. According to him, the current price for welded pipe is THB2,000/t (USD59/t) lower than that in April. To avoid risks, he has reduced the total stockpile from 2,000t at the beginning of this year to the current one of 1,000t. He forecasts a dim welded pipe market in following several weeks.
A producer from Samut Prakarn reports that the price of welded pipe ASTM A53B Φ114.3mm*3.75mm is THB19,500/t (USD579/t) VAT excluded, falling by THB500/t (USD15/t) compared with that of last week.
