BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Dec 14 - According to data from Asian Metal, primary aluminum outputs from January to November accumulated around 4.03 million tonnes in Xinjiang, China, up by 91.17% on a yearly basis.
The output in November was 425,000t, up 69.52% year-on-year. The output in October was around 410,800t.
Although aluminum ingot prices were still generally decreasing during November, the production expansion in Xinjiang was still carrying on in a steady way as most of the mating power generators were put into operation during the month. However, as some aluminum smelters were still waiting for the electricity of the new power grid lines, the yearly growth rate decreased to 69.52% in November, around 13% lower than that during last month.
As some aluminum smelters are still expanding their capacities in a gradual way, the running capacity in Xinjiang is expected to reach at least 6 million tonnes by the end of this year.
