BEIJING (Asian Metal) 26 Jan 14 - As aluminum ingot price dropped further to quite low levels, secondary aluminum alloy price was under pressure in Chinese market
“Aluminum ingot price dropped to very low levels, exerting great pressure on secondary aluminum alloy price,” said a Hubei-based secondary aluminum alloy producer. “We lowered offer by RMB50/t (USD8.3/t) to RMB15,700/t (USD2,595/t) with acceptance for ADC12,” he said.
According to him, their sales were still good at present. They produce around 1,600 tons of secondary aluminum alloys each month.
“The market calms down gradually as Spring Festival is coming,” said a Fujian-based producer. “Meanwhile, aluminum ingot price went down significantly, thus we lowered our offer to some extent,” he said. They offered RMB15,500-15,600/t (USD2,562-2,578/t) with acceptance for ADC12, down by RMB100/t (USD16.5/t).
The company produces around 6,000 tons of secondary aluminum alloys each month. According to the source, the orders decreased to some extent . “The sales will be fewer than 5,000 tons this month,” he said.
