Turkish CRC price down

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Jan 14 - The price of CRC in Turkey decreases slightly dragged by the shrinking demand from downstream consumers. Insiders deem it is likely for CRC price to decline further in the near future.
A source in Istanbul says that the price of DC01 1.0mm*1,250mm*C is USD700/t VAT excluded, down by USD10/t over that of last week.
According to him, his sales volume of CRC in December of 2013 totaled around 1,000t, while he only sold 150t in the past week. “Affected by the devaluation of TRY, most end users are unwilling to hold large stocks. In order to promote sales, traders have to cut prices,” he says, adding that he can still offer a discount of USD10/t to customers who purchase more than 30t at a time.
A source in Kayseri tells Asian Metal that the CRC quotation for DC01 1.0mm*1,250mm*C is USD695/t VAT excluded, USD10/t lower than that of last week.
“Currently, ex-works prices of CRC DC01 1.0mm*1,250mm*C and HRC S275 JR 3.0mm*1,250mm*C from steel mills in Turkey are stable at USD700/t and USD590/t VAT excluded respectively,” he says, adding that his purchasing price of CRC from steel mills is USD680/t and the margin of CRC has been reduced from USD25/t to USD15/t in the recent month. However, as far as he concerned, the margin will be narrowed in the short term because there are no signs of demand release at all.
