BEIJING (Asian Metal) 31 Dec 13 - The current price of CRC in India remains on a stable trend for the time being
A trader of CRC from Ahmadabad reports to Asian Metal that the price of IS513 1.0mm*1,250mm*C is INR45,000/t with local taxes excluded (USD724.5/t), equaling to that of last week.
His company is a large-scale trading one for many steel flat products like HRC, CRC and GI. According to the source, his daily sales volume of these products is 200 tons currently . Even though the volume is smaller than the target one of 300 tons, he reveals it is larger than the average level of 100 tons in the first half year. “Anyhow, the transaction is not too bad currently,” he says, adding that some steel mills in India are planning to hike the ex-works price of CRC by INR500-750/t for January production . In consequence, he thinks the market price will stay firm in the near future.
Another trader of CRC from Mumbai tells that the price of IS513 1.0mm*1,250mm*C is INR44,500/t with local taxes excluded (USD716.5/t), the same as that of last week.
As he explains, encouraged by the appreciation of Indian rupee and the recovery of local economy, some traders increased their quotations slightly by INR500/t recently. However, they can offer a discount as large as INR500/t if customers purchase more than 30t at a time . In addition, the basic price of HRC IS2062 2.0mm*1,250mm*C has been stabilized at INR38,500/t with local taxes excluded (USD623.7/t) for two weeks . He chooses to keep CRC prices unchanged at present but he predicts the price will move up a little at the beginning of 2014 .
. In view of the fact that the sales situation is not so bad, insiders deem it is likely for traders to increase quotations after the holiday of New Year.
